Dog Liver Transplantation 28 Cases







Abstract
The Orthotopic liver transplantation for the terminal liver diseases has been performed :quently since the introduction of new immunosuppressive agent, technical advances in surgical ill, use of biopump during anhepatic stage, rapid infusion system for transfusion and -omboelastography for coagulopathies were used. In Korea, liver transplantation has been done er 1988, and the animal experiments have been going on for many years in many institutes. -thotopic liver transplantation 28 cases in dogs were experienced and the results were analysed.
1) The first 13 cases were expired because of hypovolemic shock, after that cases, survival time was improved from 3 hours to 9 hours.
2) As orthotopic liver transplantation was compared with partial liver translantation, the later was survived more long time.
3) Biopump were used in 3 cases of the first 15 cases, in 3 cases between 16 cases and 28 cases.
4) Piggy Back operation was done in total 22 cases, 5 cases of partial liver transplantation and 17 cases of orthotopic liver transplantation.
5) The portal and infrahepatic vena cava anastomosis were performed with a continous 510 or 6/0 polypropylene sutrare leaving a growth factor of about one-third of the diameter of the vessel.
6) Survival according to body weight was poor under 13kg the first 13 cases, but improved over 20kg after 14 cases.
